Luca Poletti

Award-winning composer, pianist, and conductor.

The only Italian artist across all categories atthe “2021 Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award”(jury chair Quincy Jones), he has collaborated with artists from all over the world and from diverse musical backgrounds, performing numerous concerts at prestigious venues such asCentral Park (NYC),Birdland(NYC),North Georgia University (USA),ISSMA – Indianapolis (USA),the Chamber of Deputies (Rome),Berlin(Germany), Tirana(Albania), as well as holding key roles as an assistant toMaria Schnieder,Gil Goldstein,Uri Caine,Paolo Fresu, andmany others. 

In 2023, he was invited bythe ISJAC(International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers); he regularly premieres and performs his own works inNew York City,North Georgia,Indianapolis,Philadelphia,Albania,Poland, andJapan. 

Arranger wanted; composesmusic for large jazz ensembles, symphony orchestras, and short films.

A highly sought-after composer, he has also served on several high-profile juries evaluating original jazz compositions, soundtracks, and other works (“Scrivere in Jazz 2024” (Bruno Tommaso, Mario Raja, Roberto Bonati, Corrado Guarino, Gabriele Verdini) Trento Film Festival) and has performed with artists from all over the world, includingAustralia,Ukraine,Canada,the United States—New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco—Great Britain,Scotland,Africa, and many other countries.

TEACHING

He taught at severalItalian conservatories, includingthose inFrosinone, Rome, Adria, Sassari, andTrento, wherehe led the jazz orchestra for several years until he moved to New York City for an extended period; during that time, he served as an assistant to Gil Goldstein at the“New York University – Music Department.” 

He holds the chair ofJazz Composition atthe“G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music inTurin and collaborates with the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music inRome on the Master’s program in Video Game Music (Analysis of Compositional Forms and Orchestration).
